Hi all,

I've just fitted a tow bar to my MkII galaxy (2000 model). I've attached twin electrical sockets but now the parking sensors tell me I'm touching something as soon as reverse is selected. Is it possible to bypass the offending sensors?

Also, I cannot seem to find the best place for connecting to the vehicle wiring and Haynes don't seem to do a workshop manual for the MkII. I've routed the wiring to behind the drivers side rear light unit, I was wondering if someone who has wired one of these recently could advise me on which wires are what for both the twin electrical sockets I have fitted. I've tried the FAQ section, but when I click on any of the links it says that internet explorer cannot display the page. Thanks in advance of any help, Karl.

I made a custom bracket for the electric socket which moved the socket in towards the ball a couple of mm, as my p/s were going off when reverse selected. You could bend your bracket so the sockets are at an angle. P/s bypass is possible only when the trailer is connected and when using specific kit (or if your handy with electrickery, a relay). You could always press the p/s button just after selecting reverse.

Thanks, removing the bumper protector plate and bending the bracket for the sockets has sorted the parking sensor issue. Just need help figuring out how to wire the bloody things up now.
